Common questions
Answers to the real objections.
-
What does fractional AI and technology leadership mean?
You get a senior technologist who owns your AI and technology direction, without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. You are not buying a vendor's software or a junior team. You are buying judgment: someone who has done this at scale deciding what is worth doing, what is safe, and then making it real. The engagement scales from a one-time assessment to ongoing leadership, depending on what you need.
-
How does the engagement model work?
You are never buying more than the next step. The engagement is designed to start with the assessment and grow from there, in three steps: assess, build, embed. You leave the assessment with a prioritized roadmap. If it makes sense, we build, deploying the agents the assessment identified with governance built in. From there, the fractional engagement keeps the system governed and expanding.
-
How do you handle security and compliance?
You get the capability without inheriting the exposure. Governance is the point, not an add-on. Agents are deployed with permissioning, human-in-the-loop approval on the decisions that carry risk, audit logging, and compliance instrumentation around them. We set the guardrails to your own risk and compliance requirements, and the record is written as the work happens, which is the evidence shape a SOC 2 Type II examination samples against. That discipline comes from years inside regulated environments where access control and evidence are the job. We are not an auditor and we issue no certifications.
-
How is our data handled?
Your data stays in your environment. The system is deployed there, and every agent is scoped to only the access its job requires, not broad access by default. Each action is recorded in a reviewable audit log. In regulated settings, protected data stays controlled and the evidence of how it was used is captured as the system runs, rather than reconstructed after the fact. Where HIPAA applies, that is the kind of activity record the Security Rule expects at 45 CFR 164.312(b), in place before anyone asks for it.

How does pricing work?
You pay for the step you are on, not for the whole ladder. Pricing follows three tiers: a one-time AI Readiness & Governance Audit, a Governed AI Deployment + Compliance Evidence project, and ongoing Fractional Chief AI Officer (CAIO) / AI strategist. Figures are shown as ranges and confirmed before any engagement begins. You start with the step that fits and grow only when the value is clear.
